Lake Sequoia

Lake Sequoia brings a new perspective to MacOS-inspired wallpaper.

Sequoia was easily one of the most loved macOS wallpapers in recent memory. Even when I asked on X about everyone’s favorite wallpaper, macOS Sequoia consistently ranked among the top proving its visual impact.

Inspired by transition. Reimagined with vision.

That moment during WWDC25, when Apple unveiled macOS Tahoe and subtly transitioned from Sequoia’s vibrant tones to a calm lakeside palette, lit a spark. I paused the stream, took a screenshot, and the idea clicked instantly.

What if Sequoia didn’t just stay in the forest? What if it flowed into a golden lake, kissed by light?

That’s how Lake Sequoia was born — my own take on the next step of the story.

For this collection, I took a three-dimensional approach, experimenting with light, form, and perspective and after exploring multiple viewpoints, I landed on two distinct angles where Lake Sequoia truly shines. One feels like a serene sunrise, the other like a moonlit moment both crafted to bring the scene to life across light and dark modes.

The light version captures a fantasy-style sunlit lake with soft gradients and glowing golden trees.

Lake Sequoia Twilight 🌙

The dark version channels that same view at night with cool tones and gentle moonlight reflections.

Everything was created from scratch, carefully tuned to feel Apple, but still distinctly mine.

Bonus Tip

On Mac, set the wallpaper to "Stretched" for a wider, more cinematic view of the scene. It reveals more of the golden lake glow and subtle reflections across the scene.

Here's a quick comparison: you'll notice the difference instantly

As I’ve announced earlier this month, all my wallpapers now come in a unified 6K resolution, so they look crisp and clean across all your devices. Whether you’re on Mac, iPad, or iPhone, you get the same premium quality.

On iPhone, you’re free to crop, zoom, and adjust to find the framing that fits your style best. I didn’t want to lock you into one fixed view instead, you choose the angle that speaks to you.
