Imagining a Modern-Day iPhone 5c Introducing My iPhone 17c Concept

Everyone remembers the iPhone 5c the colorful, playful plastic iPhone that stood out in Apple’s lineup with its bright finishes and approachable design. It was bold, fun, and unlike anything Apple had done before.

I’ve always wondered what a modern version of that device could look like in 2025. So I decided to reimagine it myself — and that idea led to the creation of the iPhone 17c Concept, my interpretation of a refreshed, modern-day 5c.

A New Take on Color

If the “c” once stood for color, then choosing the finishes for the 17c felt like the most important part of the concept. I wanted the lineup to feel youthful and expressive, but still modern enough to sit next to the iPhone 17 series.

After many experiments, I ended up with five bright, clean finishes:

Coral — the hero color a soft, peach-orange tone

Dark Azure — a bold, modern blue

Orchid — a gentle violet-lavender finish

Starlight — a clean neutral tone

Carbon — a darker, refined option

Design & Features

Since this device sits inside the iPhone 17 family, I imagined it using the same design language but with a more approachable twist — just like the original 5c did.

For the internal hardware and features, here’s what I envisioned:

  • Apple A19C chip — a slightly tuned version tailored for the 17c

  • 6.1-inch OLED display

  • Dynamic Island

  • Single 48MP “Fusion Camera” — a 2-in-1 main system

  • USB-C

  • Action Button included

  • 8GB RAM

  • Apple Intelligence support

Storage options:

  • $499 for 128GB

  • $599 for 256GB

No MagSafe and no camera control button or ProMotion

These specs felt like the right balance between affordability and modern Apple features.

This entire project is a fan-made concept — purely my imagination of what a revived, modern iPhone 5c could look like.

I had a lot of fun putting this together, and I hope you enjoy exploring the renders as much as I enjoyed designing them.
